My Advice to P-Square

The other day, I listened to Peter of P-Square's 'Cool it down' track. The song was a nice rendition, and it had this smooth flavour, but I must say that it would have been a massive hit and a thoroughly enjoyable song, had Paul been on that track.

Severally, I unconsciously strained, waiting to hear Paul's voice echo in the background with his sonorous back-up lines, but I was always disappointed.
Then I saw the video.
Then I realized how amazing these boys were when they were together. Even the dance routines clearly lacked the Paul effect. No, Paul is not a better dancer, I am talking about the chemistry between the twin brothers on every track.
Something about them as a team, made us fall madly in love with the brand p-square.

Are we going to see them again together dishing out the sounds that made us follow their story from grass to grace? I can't tell.

There are so many rumours surrounding their feud. So many rumours that one does not know which to believe. Some even say it is just a publicity stunt. That they have something up their sleeves.

I don't know if that is true, and honestly, I don't care. What I care about is good music. What I care about is them sustaining what they have struggled, and I must add, suffered, hard to build.

What advice do I have for them? None!
Honestly, what advice can I actually give to grown up men who are set in their minds?

And by the way, there is an almost nonexistent chance that they will read this piece.

They should just do what is best for them, their families and their careers.

I pray for a better Nigeria.

WELCOME TO THE NAIJA WRITER BLOG, be careful, green ink may stain your clothes!

This will go down in history as my first post. I am as excited as I am nervous. Excited because I am eager to let you into the mind of the Naija writer, nervous because I want to make a good first impression. You know that thing they say about first impression?

I was on my own, jeje, having a bath in the shower when the idea for the Naija Writer hit me. I get a lot of ideas in the bathroom, and please don't use your mind to imagine vain things. Thank you.

So I am in the bathroom and the idea of a place where the true Nigerian ink can gain expression hits me and I get all excited and ready to explore. (Too many 'and' in one sentence, just shows my excitement). I step out of the bathroom and begin to put flesh to the idea. But like many ideas I have had, doubts begin to rattle my mind. Will this work? Why not go for THE NIGERIAN WRITER, instead of THE NAIJA WRITER.  The former sounds more appealing to a global audience. But I don't want to be appealing. I want to be unique. We want to have the fun of our lives while showing the world how GREEN our mind is, and GREEN means fertile. And will you believe, I just decided to stick to THE NAIJA WRITER now?

The Naija writer is fearless. He (and that includes she) knows he has a peculiar sense of patriotism and puts in your face, humbly and yet matter-of-fact-ly.

Welcome to a journey that will be both awesome and intriguing. Welcome to the greenest land in the world. Welcome to the pen that flows with the greenest ink. Welcome to THE NAIJA WRITER's blog.

Always remember that GREEN means LIFE!
